Professional Expertise and Experience
Members of the clinical staff at Orange County Radiation Oncology are each long-standing members of their professional organizations and strive for excellence through continued education and quality improvement. They are board certified and accredited in radiation oncology. Full-time board cetified physics support allows for customized isodose plans, regulatory compliance, quality control and assurance.
Dr. Uma B Mishra is board certified in Radiation Oncology and
is a Fellow of the American College of Radiation Oncology. In addition
to his Cornwall practice, he is a member of the teaching faculty at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
His education includes training at Albany Medical College and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He has been a member of the attending staff at New York Medical College, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and New York's Montifiore Medical Center.
Dr. Shantilata Mishra holds a Ph.D. in physics, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Radiology, and is on the
faculty of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. As a medical
physicist, she reviews each patient's needs and designs a computerized
treatment plan. She ensures the accuracy of equipment operation. She
has completed a fellowship in medical physics at Memorial
Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and was the Chief Physicist at
Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.
Mohammad Akbar, L.R.T.T. is the senior radiation therapist at Orange County
Radiation Oncology. During each session, he carefully monitors
radiation exposure, making sure it goes exactly where it is planned.
He is also mindful of radiation's effects on the patient.
Jeannine Grubb, R.T.T. C.M.D. is a dosimetrist at Orange County Radiation Oncology. Jeannine works with Dr. Mishra to help design the optimal treatment plan for each patient.
Natalie Brown is one of Orange County Radiation Oncology's receptionists and Office Assistants. Our Office Assistants
well understand the concerns of patients facing radiation therapy, and provide a cheerful demeanor while sharing their concern for all patients.
